An Ohio Christmas Thought 2017

An Ohio Christmas

It is two days before Christmas and some snow started falling this morning.  Up and down Kidron Road, a few cars and horse-and-buggies clamored along through the snowflakes.  Lehman's Hardware Store was quiet in the morning but started to pickup slightly toward noon, with last minute gift shoppers (like me) perusing the shelves.  Gifts for the kids in the family come easy as Lehman's has a wonderful toy section filled with all the old time toys I grew up with like the bird water-whistle and Jacob's ladder.  I'm sure the kids will love them (at least I'm hoping).  The local Amish folks managed to peruse the shelves as well which included the toy section.  We're expecting some 1 to 3 inches more snow here soon on Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day.  I wonder how folks fare down in Florida as I cannot manage to fathom Christmas in a sunny, tropical-like setting.  I like snow and pine trees too much perhaps, but it sure seems more like Christmas with cold air and snow (or at least a forecast for snow which isn't always 100% accurate) while throwing in a cup of hot tea or coffee indoors.  Soon we'll be celebrating the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus, who said "Follow Me...".  I pray this Christmas that the lost turn to Him...repent...believe...seek and the Truth will be found.  Put away the consumerism, come out and be separate (II Cor. 6:17).

John 3: 16,17, 18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
